PERIODONTAL THERAPY

Periodontal therapy fights the effects of gum disease and brings the patient’s gum tissue back to health. It can prevent the loss of teeth by reduction of pockets , inflammation and infection . Forms of periodontal therapy include scaling and root planning (which removes plaque and tartar from the gums) and gum grafting (in which healthy gum tissue is taken from the patient’s mouth and grafted to replace lost gum tissue) as well as cosmetic procedures such as gingivoplasty and crown lengthening surgery.
